I have always been fascinated by a certain connection between cities and books: cities have their façades as a first impression, while books have their covers. Both are filled with fascinating stories and compelling characters waiting to be discovered.
From this idea — and, perhaps, also from the passionate architect within me — Literary City was born. A personal interpretation of what a book might look like if its appearance, its story and its inner world were transformed into a building.
In this exhibition, you will discover some of the buildings that make up this ever-changing city.
Once upon a time, there was the story of Laia Lleonart.
Valencian (a musician, of course, although a string player rather than a wind player), a dreamer, an avid reader and a passionate advocate for a life full of colour. There is one constant thought that drives her artistic practice: the endless search for new stories to tell, new worlds, new languages and new ways of expressing herself.
Is there more to the story? Of course. But that is another story, and it must be told another time.
